The Cayuga Lake Watershed Network identifies key threats to Cayuga Lake and its watershed, and it advocates for solutions that support a healthy environment and vibrant communities.
Gifts
21A $5 To help buy supplies  for lakewide creek and waterfront cleanups next  spring. For Spring and Summer  2010, the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network is organizing creek cleanups and water  weed-pull events all around the lake. We’ll need plastic bags, gloves, refreshments, signs, mailing materials, and other supplies. We’ll also need  you! Please contact us if you’d like to organize a group for your favorite  creek or lakefront area.
21B $10 To support the printing of our newsletter with articles advocating for solutions that protect Cayuga Lake water quality. Our quarterly “Network News” is mailed to almost 500 people and is read by many more. With timely articles written by experts in readable language, the “News” is an important communications tool across the watershed and beyond. Your gift ensures steady publication and distribution.
21C $25 To support monitoring of water quality indicators in Cayuga Lake tributaries. High-quality, regular water quality monitoring of the tributary creeks provides the scientific data needed to make decisions for the protection of Cayuga Lake. Your gift is a necessary supplement to grant awards during these lean times.
21D $25 To advocate to citizens and regulators for gas drilling regulations that protect local water quality. Among long-established environmental organizations, the Network led the way in 2009, voicing concerns regarding water and watershed impacts from unconventional gas drilling. Your gift supports work to strengthen protection of water, our most valuable natural resource.
21X $ open To help us work with watershed communities to solve local water quality issues. To protect the whole Cayuga Lake watershed area (including six counties, 49 municipalities, and 34 tributary creek watersheds), we must also focus locally, tackling and solving specific water quality challenges at the community level. Your gift enables our staff to work in support of watershed-wide environmental health and sustainability.
