O.U.R.S. Program

Mission Statement

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County strengthens youth, adults, families and communities through learning partnerships that put knowledge to work.

Within this framework, O.U.R.S. strives to provide opportunities for youth living in or near mobile home parks in Freeville, NY (who generally lack or have limited access to resources and extracurricular activities other families enjoy due to financial and transportation barriers) to learn healthy life-long skills and habits, to feel successful, to develop a positive self-image and future goals, to form relationships with other youth and adults in a supported and comfortable environment, and to contribute to the well-being of their local community and natural world through participating in multigenerational on-site service-learning programs.
