Mission Statement

The mission of the SPCA of Tompkins County is to protect companion animals. We are a no-kill shelter dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and overpopulation. We promote responsible pet stewardship by providing education, counseling and training to nurture and enhance the human-animal bond.

Food, shelter, and love for a homeless cat or dog; Provide good food, fresh clean water, and a safe, dry, warm place for a homeless cat or dog. Hugs and kisses no extra cost!

Rabies & distemper vaccinations for a homeless cat or dog; Rabies & distemper vaccinations safeguard shelter animals and the public from dangerous diseases.

Investigation of animal cruelty; Help prevent and stop animal abuse, cruelty, and neglect. A gift to this SPCA program saves the lives of animals in bad situations.

Spay/neuter surgery for a shelter pet; Help provide spay/neuter surgery for one cat or dog. Hundreds of unwanted kittens and dozens of unwanted puppies end up at the shelter every year. Spaying/neutering is the only humane way to diminish pet overpopulation.

Emergency care for a homeless cat or dog; Help the SPCA of Tompkins County provide emergency medical care of an injured stray animal. Every dollar directly supports saving lives.
