Mission:

The mission of the Ithaca Children's Garden is to create a unique and joyful garden environment designed to inspire, empower, and connect children and youth with the importance of plants and the natural world in their lives.

 

 

Gifts:

$5 Seeds for one child participating in the Growing Gardens Program to design, plant, care for and harvest their own plots of lettuce, greens, and spring vegetables.

$15 One Wetlands Exploration Kit used by children at the Ithaca Children’s Garden to explore the pond and wetland swale. Each kit will include a dip net, collection jar, observation tank, hand lenses, and child’s field guide.

$30 T-shirt Uniforms (4 tees) for one Youth Horticulture Apprentice’s workweek. The Youth Horticulture Apprentice Program is a workforce development and youth development program aimed at teaching teens marketable horticultural skills while working on projects at the Ithaca Children’s Garden. The program also includes off-site trainings and an introduction to careers in the green industry.

$50 Sponsor one 2-hour Preschool Classroom Visit to bring “Spring into Gardening” or “Habitat Adventures” to preschool classrooms which find the program fee beyond their means. Each program includes hands-on activities, interactive storytelling, and games.
