Mission:

The mission of the Village at Ithaca is to advocate for equity and excellence in the Ithaca City School District by developing strategic community relationships to ensure that students, particularly Black, Latino, and low-income, consistently meet or exceed district and state standards of academic achievement.

 

 

Gifts:

$10 Provides refreshments for our monthly Youth Leadership Committee meeting (youth-led) which empowers teens in taking action toward creating a community of their dreams; extended by Ithaca Hours grant.

$15 Provides at-cost purchase of a book for our teen Lending Library (youth-suggested, youth-coordinated, youth-promoted); donation doubled by "matching challenge" from Bookery II.

$20 Funds monthly training session for 12 Family Advocates to gain specific skills in "Closing the Achievement Gap"; Advocates matched with families in Ithaca schools.

$25 Scholarship for one week's worth of tutoring/mentoring help via an existing enrichment program, (e.g., "Golden Opportunities", REACH, SOAR, "Let's Get Ready", etc.)

$_____ Open Amount: With the help of a trained volunteer, a struggling student in the Ithaca City School District will overcome institutional obstacles and succeed academically.
